Rocker Boy!!

Here's my favorite rock and roll boy!!! Austin and I had a day together for the first time since he's been diagnosed with diabetes. It's been a rough road for his mom, but she let me take him to town and spend some time with him. He didn't do his scheduled snack like he usually does and he was low in his sugar test. I felt really bad that I didn't insist that he do his snack to keep his sugars in check.

Any way, we had a great time and will have more time with him this summer!

Jake!

Here's my little neighbor Jake, the one in the cute boy-apron!! I asked him if he wanted me to make him one and he said YES!! I just love a kid who likes me to make him stuff. I also made him a pair of shorts out of the same fabric, love that smile!! Baby brother is next!!!

Summer Garden!

Here's some garden pic's that I took on Sat., our garden in many years of not having one, thanks son!! My son David, moved in for a bit and started this fab garden and we love it! With rising costs of foreign produce, we now cane go in the back yard and get our own!!

More classes!!

I finished my classes on how to use my new machine, my brain hurts!!! Lot's of info and cool new stuff to buy, like some great attachments to do stuff that I may or may not do. I felt pressure to buy the better machine, almost did. ALMOST!!! Had DH call them back to tell them that I really didn't know how to use the one I had let alone a $7,000.00 sewing machine!! It must make coffee too.

Anyhow, I got out of there with our checkbook (I mean credit card!) in hand and money still in the bank. I'm really trying hard not to to be impulsive, it's just best for me to stay home!!!

I found this little bag of treat's on our gate, between my neighbor's and our house. I sometimes leave my neighbor's grandson treats now and then and today there was a bag of animal cracker's for ME!! She had some mending for me to do so I guess the treat's are for that!! THANKS Char!!! I'm going to find an old mail box that can be hung up and nail it on the gate, seems more fun to find goodies in an old mail box!!! I might even paint it red!!!

Classes today!!

Good Morning!!!

Today I'm taking classes on how to use my new sewing machine, I feel pressure to learn something that I can't retain! YIKES!!! Six hour's of learning, my brain may explode. I have always been leery of classes because I can't learn new thing's lately! Any way, I'll fake it and have DH read the manual and teach me. This guy taught me how to knit when I was pregnant with our first child!! So he's very patient when it comes to the learning curve!

I bought this fab new Bernina with all the bell's and whistles!! So let the learning begin!!

There's the best helper in the world!!!

Last Tuesday we hosted our Tuesday's night couple's group at our home. It's still cool enough to eat out door's, so that just what we did!! I love to do up a table with all the stuff I have around here, quilts, vintage vases, linen napkin's and so on. There was 13 of us, it was so much fun, but I forgot to take pic's of our friend's, we were so busy eating and sharing, but I do have some picture's of before!

Good morning on this fine sat. morning!! Lot's of activity around here lately, getting projects done and as soon as we get one done, I'm dreaming 2 more up for my DH!! He's very good not to complain too much with I get one more idea for HIM to do!!!

The garden has grown with leaps and bound's, now we wait for the pickings to happen!! We haven't had a garden in years, I forgot how much time it takes to really have a great one to produce the veggy's we want, and plenty to share with family and friends!!! I've been so busy in the garden that my sewing up some fab apron's has been put on the side burner. But I have all this new fabric that I'm itching to use and better get on it!!

Here's a pic of our flight home, hubby always like to take pictures of our going home!!! But this one caught my eye, the pilot was hanging out the window to clean it!! DH missed the shot where he's scrubbing on it, but you get the picture. I mean seriously, don't they they clean it before we have to take off!

1. Lot's of beautiful white tablecloth's, really big ones too!! We sometimes carry the dinning room table outside and eat there, so nice!!

Good Morning!

Today is another rainy day, so all my activities will be indoors, of course a trip to the thrift shop is in order! Being "Thrifty Thursday", I have to get back to posting my finds!

Yesterday went to my mother-in-laws to visit and bring her some flowers from my yard. Peony's are the flowers to cut and arrange and of course share. Being it so rainy here, you have to cut them or they get a rusty colored tone on the edges of the flower. SO----------she got a pretty good size bunch!

Some time ago I found this awesome vase with holes on the bottom to do a flower arrangement and it worked out real well! It's a pretty pink and vintage, one of my favorite combos!

French Flea Market---Apron

Here she is!!! I just love the way this apron came out, so pretty. Using up some of my vast collections of vintage lace, tatting, slips, and embroidered linens. This is probley my favorites ways of sewing no patterns just building!!! I see things all ready made then I have to trace back how I envisioned them as in this apron. It just kinda unfolds and the end results are stunning, I must say myself!!! As I get older and more experienced in my sewing skills I just let things flow and more often than not I come up with an item that I'm real proud of!!! Sure, I had some of "What was I thinking" but that's part of learning what makes you YOU!!!! Any way, enough of blowing my own horn, here's some pic's of this fab apron!!!

Sewing some pretties!!

Good morning!!!

I'm back to sewing my vintage inspired apron again, with vintage laces, slips, embroidery pieces for the pockets and just in general, making stuff!!! I love making these special aprons!!! I have been collecting this kind of stuff for ages and need to use up some of it so I'll be able to fit into my new sewing studio. I made some of these pretty aprons last year so I thought I better make some more to bring in the summer !!! They remind me of the "Stevie Nicks" album covers that she had done. So lots of making pretties today, and I'll put them in the shop either tonight or in the morning!

I'm still here!!

Didn't think I survived the show last Sunday, huh! Well, I almost didn't, too hot, 99 degress hot!! DH left real early and I causally come about 9:30, he had every thing set up really nice. All these years of how I like these shows to be set up rubbed off on him. He's great! It was great fun, sold lot's of item's, always wish we would of sold more. Now we have the bug to do maybe one or two this summer, maybe!!

I tossed in some of my bags that I make for my etsy shop http://anniesattic.etsy.com/ and surprise, surprise, sold four of them! I have found from my experience that when you have shows where you sell vintage and such, that new stuff does not sell well or at all. But I sold four of my yummiest bags, YAY!!! Got a couple of orders for my new aprons and a few of my baby bibs http://mycrybabysboutique.etsy.com/ .

It was a fun day with the hubby and good to sell some of my things that I've hoarded. I sold a huge amount of vintage aprons, eighteen to one gal who will probley sell them on etsy, good luck!!! I wish I had gotten her name so you could get a chance to buy some yourselves. I grabbed a few back out of the piles because they were so sweet!!! I couldn't help myself. Another gal bought about 20 or so, I was sure spying on them as I put them in the bag, I keep saying to DH, LOOK, at this one and this one, she got the prettiest ones!!! You would think that I didn't want to sell them!!! Well, Maybe not!!!!!

I had 4 carts packed full and more around here, someplace! Got to see where the rest of them are!! Twenty some years of collecting, I'm sure there's more!!!

Sunday Sale Day!!

YAY, every body, today's the day!! We have a show in Grants Pass Oregon today, so if your in the area stop by and say "HEY"!!! I believe this is our last show we're going to do, it's so much work!!! I'm not going to be dragging stuff home like I use to because there's no more room and there's no more room! I'm bringing all those vintage apron's to the show, the pic is in a previous post, go check it out!!! I hope to sell them all. They are so pretty but too many to keep for myself and I'll pass them on to some of you!!

My Hero!!

This boy is my hero!! My nephew, Austin, was diagnosed last wed. with juvenile diabetes,and we're all so worried. But he's not, and he's learning about it and counting sugars and carbs and remembering a lot of the new stuff that will change his life. He just the bravest person I know, besides his mom, Marilyn!! She's soaking up every piece of knowledge and learning every thing she can to help her son. She also is my hero!!! She's facing this giant with courage and "we can do this" attitude with strength and bravery!

He's still in the hospital, trying to get his sugers even and teaching him a life time of knowledge in such a short time. I love him so much!!! Here's a pic of him and I just talking, snuggling and more talking!!!

Happy Birthday Shawn!!!

Happy Birthday son!! We're having a great time at my son's home in Idaho! We came for his 36 th birthday, wow, where did all the time go! Thirty six years ago, I meet him and fell in love. Back then, they didn't really let you have your baby much, at least at the hospital where he was born! Weird,huh!!! The nurse's would ring a bell and you dragged your sorry self out of bed and you washed your hand's before they let me hold him, and then would only let me hold him for 15 minutes!! I know, I can't believe I let that happened. I'm so glad the new mom's today have more control over their newborns. Anyway, he's a great husband, father and son, and we're so proud of him!!
